Extension & Refurbishment Project
The committee has decided to launch an ambitious fund-raising initiative across the community as a whole: a “500 Club
If successful, the “500 Club” will raise a significant amount of money across the wider community and will be advertised in the next issue of Spectrum. The objective is to sell 500 tickets and raise nearly £50,000 for the Church Hall project.
There will be a prize draw at each of the Village Markets throughout 2014 – and (assuming 500 tickets sold) the prizes on offer would be a first prize of £500 and 5 second prizes of £100 each – every month. The entry price is £10 per draw so the “ticket” is not cheap at £120 – but it is hoped that the 500 Club will achieve its target and raise some serious funds for the Church Hall. You also have the opportunity to get together as a syndicate and share the entry.
The Entry Form and Rules for the competition are on the Living Stones web site: www.livingstonesproject.co.uk
14 chairs have gone walk about from the Village Hall, bright red, if you have borrowed them over the last few months we would appreciate their return.

Diamond Jubilee Bench
The Jubilee Bench, which was financed by the Jubilee Fund has been installed against the wall in the church yard. The Highclere Society supported the Jubilee Committee with a donation and helped to raise funds for the various celebrations. Thanks to Ron Snipp and to Derek Gandy who fitted it securely in this position. The Reverend Carolyn Petts said a prayer of blessing for the Jubilee Bench after Matins on Sunday 27th January.
The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee will also be remembered in the village by the oak tree that has been planted in the Glebe.
The Annual Charity Village Christmas Walk will take place again this year on the 27th December, the details etc are being planned now. Contact Ian 01635 253995
