The following applications were considered:

BDB 48804 Land adjacent Strathcona, Andover Road, Washwater

Erection of single storey rear conservatory

NO OBJECTION Subject to the following condition

Screen planting, a condition of original application BDB 42742 must be implemented.

BDB 48443 73 Penwood Heights

Erection of porch to front and conservatory to the rear

NO OBJECTION

BDB 48871 Thistledown, Andover Road, Wash Water

Erection of extension and alterations to property

NO OBJECTION Subject to the following condition

A good match of materials to existing brickwork is required.

BDB 48881 Building 303, New Greenham Park

Change of use from military to B1b B1c B2 and B8

NO OBJECTION Subject to following condition

A traffic planning scheme to direct transport away from village roads (Newtown and Andover A343 roads) and on to A34 via A339.

BDB 48890 Thorngrove School, The Mount, Highclere

Erection of sports pavilion for changing/ entertaining for visiting teams

NO OBJECTION Subject to the following condition

The building shall never be used for residential purposes. On function days a steward shall direct cars in and out of the car park and not permit parking in the lanes.

Councillors were concerned that at the present time, special functions at the school result in traffic blocking the lanes, and that a facility for entertaining visiting teams would increase the number of days on which problems occur.

120/00 CORRESPONDENCE RELATING TO PLANNING MATTERS

BDB 48611 Orange mast at Penwood

The Council has received from the planning officer, a copy of his letter to the applicant agreeing with this Council's observations and objections as recorded in minute 101 of meeting held on 12 September.

The Council has also received a copy of the applicant's reply arguing that the mini cabin could not be sited within the existing enclosure as the existing concrete base was not bolted down and a cable run would be too long.

Councillor Pearson dismissed these arguments and it was agreed that he would send an Email reply to the case officer detailing the Council's continued objection.
