94/00 PLANNING

The following applications were considered:

BDB 48356 Cherry Tree Farm, Horris Hill

An Extension

NO OBJECTION

BDB48338 Curridge Car Sales, Andover Rd Wash Water

Erection of 3 mobile flag poles

NO OBJECTION

BDB48353 Brookfields, Westridge, Highclere

Removal of condition limiting attendance

The council had received only one letter of complaint with regard to speeding traffic which was assumed by the complainant to be patients at Brookfield.

Members debated the issue. As business use had already been granted it could not be removed. They conceded that when a business use is granted with conditions, then those conditions are worthless unless they are policeable and therefore enforceable. This condition had proved to be not policeable, and therefore the council had

NO OBJECTION to removal of the condition.

There was no support for the suggestion by Councillor Mrs S Roberts that Brookfields Clinic be asked to make a contribution towards Traffic Calming on the A343. Another suggestion aimed at reducing nuisance for neighbours, was that the driveway to Brookfields be a solid drive rather than shingles.

BDB48296 50 Penwood Heights, Penwood

Erection of a replacement porch

NO OBJECTION

The following planning approval has been advised:

BDB47636 Woodside, Pantings Lane

Removal of existing house and replacement with five dwellings.

This included a terrace of 3 houses on the corner plot

Councillors were pleased that conditions imposed included protecting the hedges but understood that this did not offer protection to Leylandi and conifers

The following notification of dismissal of appeal has been advised:

BDB46213 2 Treasure Hill Cottages, Penwood

Extension

95/00 CORRESPONDENCE RELATING TO PLANNING MATTERS

(1) Westridge (house)

A letter has been received from Dorothy Rose Gribble advising the council that Westridge was in process of being sold to St Michael's School, and that she intended to put in planning permission to build a new property on the land at Tubbs Lane.

(2) Woodside

The council has been sent a copy of a letter from Thames Vale Homes to Mr Reid whose property adjoins Woodside. It states their intention to remove the conifers on the joint boundary. Councillor Mrs Sue Roberts asked the Clerk to contact the developer and ask them to consider leaving some of the conifers for Mr Reid. The developer had also given a promise at the open meeting to maintain the hedges during the development work and should be reminded of this, as they had become overgrown.

THERE BEING NO OTHER BUSINESS THE MEETING WAS BROUGHT TO A CLOSE
